PTF Show/Clinic/Pony Club News

Upcoming events:

June 6/7: Beaumont Horse Trials- Results below

July 4/5: Alhambra Development clinic... Went really well, we all learned a lot and Luke got his first introduction to cross country.

July 10-12: Thompson Country Horse Trials- I was unable to compete with Luke (my pregnant belly is getting too big!) but Dori rode Jet to an 8th place finish in Pre-Entry.  Since this was only their second event we were VERY thrilled with their performance and I don't think we've ever seen Dori smile quite so big!

(note: there are other Horse Trials and clinics but the above are the ones we will be attending.  For a complete list of Horse Trials go on the Alberta Horse Trials website)

Sept 19/20: Again, I will not be competing with my pregnant belly but Dori and Kristyn plan to attend.

Most Thursday Evenings: Black Creek Pony Club
Riding lessons (weather permitting) or Stable Management

Ute ???? Dressage Clinics- in Drayton Valley
Dates unknown at this time

May 24th: Fultonvale Breed Showcase. We took Luke and Shanti.  It was a great event.  Luke placed 3rd in his halter class.

(2nd from the left is Shanti and Dori, Center is Luke and Dallas)

June 6/7 Beaumont Horse Trials.  We had fun despite the cold and even a few flakes of snow if you believe that!!  Luke was amazing.  It was only his second outing and people couldn't believe he was a stallion.  We did Trot-a-Trail and were in 2nd place after Dressage, 3rd after stadium and unfortunately were eliminated on cross country due only to pilot error (I missed the 3rd set of flags!)  Kristyn and Dori both had great dressage tests but had some learning experiences in Stadium.  Kristyn was recovering from a recent fall and needed a bit more time and Dori was dealing with a few spooking issues.  Both girls are fine, learned a lot from the experience and are ready to go out and try again:)

July 4/5 Alhambra Developmental clinic.  I rode Luke, Kristyn rode Falon and Dori rode Jet.  We learned lots and had a bunch of fun.  Highly recommend attending these clinics!

(L-R Kristyn & Falon, Dori & Jet, Dallas & Luke)

July 10-12 Thompson Country Horse Trials- Dori & Jet placed 8th in Pre-Entry at only their second event!!! Congratulations Dori & Jet.  We know how hard you've had to work to get there!  Keep up the great work.

July 19/20:  Minds Eye Ranch Horse Trials
This was Gabriel Creek Shanti's first Horse Trials and she was fabulous!  We came in 5th.

August 11-15:  Black Creek Pony Club Camp
We all had a great time.  We had Dressage lessons in the morning and Jumping in the afternoon.  In between we had Stable management sessions, crafts, and tack cleaning.  We also had a little surprise with the birth of 'Splash', our Painted New Forest Pony.  It was a great experience for the kids and parents alike.  The kids went on to testing the day after camp and we are pleased to announce that they all passed their levels!! Congratulations Black Creek Pony Club.

August 23/24:  Pony Club Regional Finals at Amberlea Meadows
All of the kids did a fabulous job with their horses.  The ribbons were as follows:

Gabriel Creek Shanti placed 5th .  After a difficult Dressage in the water & rain she had a fabulous cross country and did well in Stadium as well.

September 20-21:  Alhambra Horse Trials
Gabriel Creek Shanti had a nice event and again a fabulous cross country. She placed 7th.

December: Gabriel Creek Shanti was awarded MVP (Most Versatile Pony) and Combined Training Champion, as well as earning 29 Lifetime Achievement points with the NFPSNA.
